Maple have contributed to two projects that have won awards at the 17th annual North-West Regional Construction Awards
The awards, held in July 2023, awarded ‘Project of the Year’ to the University of Salford’s SEE Building due to its ‘attention to all constructing excellence principles and those of the Construction Playbook’ which demonstrated ‘real client leadership’.
Chester Northgate also received an award for ‘Cheshire, Wirral and Warrington Sub Regional Project of the Year’. Maple collaborated with architects AHR and main contractor Vinci Construction on the multi-storey car park which is an integral part of the award-winning Northgate development. The scheme is also home to a new market hall, cinema, cafés, bars and restaurants and a co-working office space.
The judges recognised the team’s collaborative approach to adversity stating, ‘The project faced multiple challenges of operating on a sensitive historic site. Great evidence regarding collaboration - including co-location of team, principal’s meetings, stakeholder meetings and early engagement - was submitted… This was a great project with success achieved through partnership and innovation.’
