Maple have taken an innovative and effective approach to installing plant screens at a landmark Welsh development.

While architects Faulkner Brown and contractors Willmott Dixon tackled a complex design for the Menai Science Park hub on Anglesey, we kept it straightforward.

Louvred screens for the rooftop plant area were created as large panels, lifted into place and clipped together ― rather than the traditional method of building with individual louvres on site.

As a result, installation was quicker and less disruptive, and helped the project team open Wales’s first science park on time and on budget in March 2018.

The £20m project, known as M-SParc, is a subsidiary of Bangor University and offers laboratories, office space and business support to companies.

Maple have also supplied and installed interior blinds for the building.
