Maple have won the contract to install louvres and brise soleil onto a new office building in the centre of Manchester.
Maple will be installing two of our products onto the new nine-storey building based in Manchester. The development, envisioned by architects Jon Matthews Associates, will provide new office spaces alongside outdoor terraces which can be used either recreationally or as a change of scenery for business meetings.
Horizontal and vertical louvres will clad the 9th floor outdoor terrace to provide screening while ventilation louvres will also feature on the ground floor of the south elevation. Both louvre systems have been powder-coated in Qualicoat class 2 in the shade ‘Mid-Grey Metallic’. To learn more about Qualicoat powder-coating, read our ‘What colour options are there for architectural façades?’ article in our Knowledge Centre.
Perforated panels will also be installed on the first and ground floor in order to control the amount of sunlight and solar heat that enters the building. The project demonstrates the versatility of perforated panels through its innovative application as a brise soleil canopy as opposed to horizontal and vertical blades.
Plot 9a will also be the first net zero carbon building on the First Street development and is to be completed by mid to late 2024.
