Maple’s arrangement of perforated panels provides a new look for Horsham’s fire station and training centre.

Maple have brought HNW’s vision to reality through the intricate arrangement of perforated panels to create a visually impressive architectural façade.

Over 500 panels will clad the new fire station’s exterior with each panel being either fully perforated, part-perforated or solid, creating a geometric-style appearance. The façade has been anodised in the shade ‘Golden Splendour’ which not only adds to the building’s sophisticated look, but also guarantees long term resistance to weathering. Alongside the panels, Maple have assisted the development of Horsham’s fire station and training centre by supplying and installing louvres onto the building’s rooftop. The louvres will provide visual screening of HVAC equipment.

The modern appearance of the façade mirrors the nature of the building, which is designed to provide a high-tech training facility for firefighters. The centre houses a combined training tower and breathing apparatus facility with a realistic live fire training area.

The project has received some glowing reports since its completion in May, ‘The LFTB cladding looks amazing and gets such great feedback from all visitors,’ said Willmott Dixon’s Construction Manager, Rob Douglas.

The station has been named ‘Platinum House’ after Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 and became operational on the 10th July.
