One of Maple’s most exciting projects has won a prize at the Constructing Excellence East Midlands Awards.

Broadmarsh car park in Nottingham collected the Collaboration and Integration Award at the 2022 ceremony.

The project, which features Maple’s rainscreen cladding and vertical fins on a dramatic architectural façade, was also highly commended in the Building Project of the Year category.

“We’re delighted to have been part of this project,” said Maple’s Contracts Manager, Bob McMann. “We worked very closely with Leonard Design Architects and main contractors Galliford Try from Day One, so to be recognised for collaboration and integration was a fitting tribute to a successful project.”

The new Broadmarsh car park replaces one of the least admired buildings in Nottingham city centre. With its striking design, it’s now regarded as an important city landmark. Aluminium and Equitone rainscreen cladding, cast glass panels, terracotta tiles and vertical aluminium fins combine to give the new 1,200-space multi-storey a bright and modern look.

“It was made possible by Maple’s ability to translate architectural visions into ‘buildable’ reality, and by close collaboration with the architects and contractors from pre-construction to completion,” added Bob.

The Constructing Excellence Awards are recognised across the East Midlands built environment as a celebration of best practice. They demonstrate the strength of construction in the East Midlands and a commitment to deliver buildings, housing, infrastructure and facilities of all kinds in a collaborative and sustainable manner.
