Maple are installing 170 sq m of high-performance weather louvres at the Royal Sussex County Hospital

The advanced screening system will protect important plant and machinery in the hospital’s new energy centre against rain penetration while still providing good air flow.

These contradictory functions are made possible by a double-bank system of 50mm blades from Maple’s Levolux range.

As well as being ideally suited for building ventilation, the Levolux Ligniti Contour 50 system is quick and easy to install thanks to its unique clip connection system. The louvres will be protected from Brighton’s coastal environment by Class 2 marine-grade powder-coating.

Royal Sussex County Hospital is undergoing a £486m redevelopment to create a new Teaching, Trauma and Tertiary Centre. Currently under construction by Laing O’Rourke, the 3Ts centre will have 361 beds, and will provide care for elderly patients, general medicine, HIV and clinical infection, and become the major trauma centre for the area.

Maple have been on site since March 2023 and are due to complete the project in July.
