Maple Secures First European Data Centre Project
Maple’s latest data centre project marks our first in the European market.
Actua® Composite Façade System is designed to take the façade off the critical path.
In data centre construction, programme certainty is everything. Each stage of the build has a direct impact on the critical path, and delays to the external envelope can quickly affect internal works, MEP installation and the overall completion date.
Actua® addresses this challenge directly. It is a fully tested, insulated façade solution combining weatherproof composite panels with a decorative external finish. By integrating with the external skin of the composite structure, Actua® helps the building become weather-tight earlier, allowing internal works to begin without waiting for the full façade installation to be completed.
Traditionally, the build sequence follows a linear path, and internal fit-out can only begin once the structure is weathertight.
For data centres, this sequence is particularly important, as mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems are complex, high-value and programme-critical. They need to be installed in a protected environment, without the risk of water ingress or disruption caused by ongoing façade works.
In many conventional approaches, fitting the façade requires penetrating the structure, which can affect the weather-tightness. This means the internal works remain dependent on the façade being completed first.
Actua® changes that sequence.
Once the composite structure and roof are in place, the building can be sealed and made weather-tight sooner because the façade is no longer penetrating into the primary structure; it’s integrating with it. Internal fit-out can then begin while the external façade installation continues in parallel.
This removes the façade from the critical path and gives project teams greater flexibility. Instead of waiting for one package to finish before another can begin, internal and external works can progress at the same time.
With a selection of panels, fins and louvres available, Actua® has been designed with both aesthetics and programme certainty in mind.
Actua® Composite Façade System helps take the façade off the critical path, giving data centre programmes the confidence to move forward without unnecessary delay. It is a façade system designed to support the way modern data centres are built.

LOUVRES |
Maple’s latest data centre project marks our first in the European market.
LOUVRES |
Contour® HP weather louvres and Infiniti® architectural fins will play a key role in the building’s envelope.
ABOUT MAPLE |
Our new systems have been engineered for efficiency, sustainability and aesthetics.
LOUVRES |
Acoustic louvres effectively reduce noise transmissions generated by data centres, helping facilitate cohabitation in the urban environment.
ABOUT MAPLE |
The event takes place in Dublin and is the biggest data centre exhibition in Ireland.
CAR PARKS |
A good marker of a successful architectural façade is if it can make a visual impact during the night as well as the day.
ABOUT MAPLE |
As the demand for data centres increases, so does the importance of integrating them into the modern landscape.
