Maple have installed a rooftop plant screen at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in just one week

In fact, the project, which used Configured Platforms’ new acoustic screening system to absorb and reflect sound from HVAC machinery, took less than a month from contract award to completion.

“Maple’s experience of designing, manufacturing and installing our own rooftop screening systems meant we were perfectly placed to deliver the product, which is well-suited for a hospital environment,” said Maple project consultant Mark Revell.

The integrated machinery platform and screening was installed on the roof of Alder Hey’s ‘Community Cluster’, next to Liverpool’s state-of-the-art specialist hospital. When complete, the new facility will provide neurodevelopmental, psychology and specialist mental health services.

It’s Maple’s latest project for contractors Galliford Try after the successful completion of an architectural façade at Broadmarsh car park and bus station in Nottingham.

Maple's Pluto louvre system is lightweight and easy to install and hides unsightly HVAC machinery

It’s lightweight and easy to install - an important consideration for rooftop locations and fixes directly to the building sub-frame. Viewed from the ground, it’s a sleek system of powder-coated or anodised aluminium louvres.
