Maple have delivered a successful brise soleil project at a Midlands distribution centre.

We supplied and installed our vertical Aurora system on the DC5 facility at the Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal (DIRFT).

Black powder-coated blades cover the main distribution hub, car park building and vehicle maintenance unit.

Maple’s Aurora brise soleil system provides effective solar shading as well as visual impact on a range of buildings. Based on horizontal aerofoil blades, the vertical system at DIRFT will incorporate strong structural design and concealed fixings to provide seamless lines across long spans.

“It was the perfect project for us,” said Maple’s Projects Director, Jay McGrath. “The whole project went smoothly, thanks to our collaboration with the Buckingham Group from Day One, and a positive on-site relationship.”

Created for Prologis UK by the Buckingham Group, the DC5 extension to DIRFT will provide Royal Mail with nearly 80,000 sq m of BREEAM Excellent and Planet Mark space near major road and rail intersections in Northamptonshire.

Our brise soleil system is simple but effective in reducing solar glare and heat gain around glazed areas

Brise soleil fins can be positioned at different pitches both vertically and horizontally to reduce solar glare for office buildings and defer light spill from headlights in car parks.
