Green Transport Hub, Dundee
CAR PARKS | ARCHITECTURAL FAÇADES
Maple has completed its façade installation at Bell Street Multi-Storey Car Park, working alongside Dundee City Council and McLaughlin & Harvey. The refurbished building, now known as Bell Street Green Transport Hub, won the Car Park Renovation Award at the British Parking Awards 2026, recognising the transformation of the existing car park into a facility that supports greener travel.
Bronze vertical fins form the main elevations, with irregular spacing creating a pattern across the façade. The fins continue around the car park’s two spiral ramps, where two different fin sizes are arranged in alternating bands to add depth and variation.
The refurbishment also includes a new stair core, clad with Maple’s solid panels. Bronze panels match the surrounding fins, while black panels frame the core and break up the expanses of bronze across the façade.
Nebula® expanded mesh panels have also been installed on either side of the stair core and across the lower levels of the east, south and west elevations. The mesh allows airflow through these areas, helping the façade meet the car park’s ventilation requirements while adding a different texture to the building.
