The installation of over 2,000 triangular panels onto a car park in West London completes ahead of schedule.

A striking array of carmine, ruby and wine red, moss grey and copper brown perforated panels now clad the exterior of a multi-storey car park in Brentford. The architect behind the project, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris May, designed the façade as a replacement for the temporary mural completed in 2021.

The random arrangement of triangular panels evokes visual interest whilst also forming a series of diamonds to give the impression of a 3D façade.

The method of installation proved quite the task for the on-site team due to the intricacy of the façade. Each panel consists of eight smaller, triangular panels which join to create a protruding prism effect. Initially, the decision was to install the panels in halves although it later proved safer and more efficient to assemble the full system offsite to avoid the potential risk of damage during transport. This change contributed to the façade being completed a week ahead of schedule.

The revamp of the multi-storey was commissioned by Ballymore as part of their regeneration plans for the neighbourhood which they have named ‘The Brentford Project’. The multi-million-pound scheme will involve the development of new residential, retail and leisure amenities.
