Ancoats Mobility Hub marks Maple’s 50th car park project since Addenbrooke’s Hospital in 2008.

Trapezoidal fins with rectangular blades have begun being fixed to the north face of the new mobility hub. The fins were formed as cassettes at our Stockport factory and once fully assembled will reach 26 metres high.

The fins form only part of Maple’s involvement in the project, as we have also been contracted to install expanded mesh panels and rainscreen cladding.

Ancoats Mobility Hub has been named the first of it’s kind in the UK thanks to its range of eco-friendly amenities. Once complete, the car park will include secure bike parking, 30 spaces for car share schemes, a parcel delivery hub and a café and was commissioned by Manchester City Council as part of their initiative to make Ancoats more accessible for pedestrians.

Maple are working alongside Bowmer & Kirkland on the innovative car park which also marks our 50th car park project since our first installation at Addenbrookes Hospital MSCP in 2008. Since our inception in 1983, Maple Façades has become industry leaders in architectural façades, particularly for multi-storey car parks, so much so we changed our name from Maple Sunscreening in reflection of our progress. Having such a pioneering development as our 50th car park project is a great honour for Maple!
