New Bailey Car Park

Maple delivered a distinctive perforated mesh façade for the nine storey New Bailey car park in Salford, using 1,700 panels to create a flowing ‘ribbon’ effect inspired by the latticework of nearby Victorian bridges. The façade provides natural light and ventilation while protecting users from the elements, with panels carefully engineered to curve around the building’s landmark 50 metre spire. The completed project received the Architectural Achievement Award at the 2016 British Parking Awards.

We were extremely pleased with the end result. Maple wanted the façade to be as good as we did, and that pushed the project from both sides - it was all very collaborative. The car park has won awards and the response we get is always fantastic.
