BRISE SOLEIL | EDUCATION AND GOV

Maple delivered a bespoke brise soleil solution for a four-storey office and laboratory building at Oxford Science Park, complementing the building’s high-tech solar control glazing. The system was designed to further reduce solar gain while enhancing the building’s architectural character, including a striking aerofoil canopy at the entrance formed with 500mm solar screening blades.

Additional bespoke ‘shadow’ boxes were installed on the side elevations to provide further shading, creating a coordinated façade solution that balances solar control with strong visual impact. Advanced 3D modelling supported the design and manufacturing process, ensuring accurate fabrication of the extruded aluminium components.
