Oastler Building Huddersfield University

Maple designed, manufactured and installed 21 pairs of architectural vertical fins for the award winning Oastler Building at the University of Huddersfield. The decorative brise soleil system was developed to achieve the client’s visual vision while delivering a practical façade solution, with high specification fixings engineered to accommodate wind and load bearing requirements.

More than 44,000 rivet holes were individually positioned to ensure precision and performance. The completed £28 million building received the Best Educational Building award at the 2017 LABC Awards, recognising the innovative design and quality of delivery.
