Maple are working with Willmott Dixon on the development of a new railway station and multi-storey in Darlington.

We’ll be installing nearly 200 of our Corona vertical fins to the façade of the new buildings, which form part of a major revamp of the Darlington Railway Heritage Quarter.

As well as improving passenger experience with a new ‘gateway’ station and car park, the wider project will conserve and refurbish three of the world’s oldest railway buildings and create a new railway museum that celebrates Darlington’s role in the development of passenger railways 200 years ago.

The size and complexity of the project – not to mention the sensitive historic nature of the site – required Maple to provide considerable pre-construction support before the specification was finalised and the contract awarded.

A crucial part of the project will involve the use of the Levolux Triniti bracket to fix the fins to the curtain walling on the main station building. The Levolux brackets have been integrated into the Maple range since we acquired the solar shading company’s intellectual property assets earlier in 2023.

Triniti brackets offer a range of impressive benefits, including significant reductions in cold bridging, excellent sound insolation, superior structural integrity and zero interstitial condensation.
