A dramatic façade for a new multi-storey car park will soon be making a big impact on Salford’s skyline.

Maple are nearing completion of this challenging installation, which will see the building cloaked in striking 3D hexagons.

Inspired by an Abu Dhabi skyscraper, architects AHR envisioned the design from individual ‘kite-shaped’ aluminium panels. Our task has been to transform their visions (through complex manufacture, and safe and efficient installation) into stunning reality.

Maple’s technical design team has been working closely with the architects since May 2016 to agree design and colour, and the intricacies of fixing and installation. Samples were created, reviewed and refined in our factory’s prototype area to avoid the costs and delays of making changes on site.

The project is due for completion in December 2018.
