Maple delivered façade and screening solutions for two neighbouring projects at Blackfriargate in Hull, including a new five-storey Arco office building and the adjacent 350-space Fruit Market car park. The design incorporated vertical aluminium fins, brise soleil light shelves and louvred rooftop plant screens for the office building, alongside a mesh façade and aluminium fins for the car park, creating a coordinated architectural approach across both developments.
Manufacturing and delivery were consolidated across the two projects to improve efficiency and reduce carbon impact, with shared components used for the vertical fin systems. Marine-grade anodised finishes were applied to protect the aluminium from the corrosive coastal environment near the Humber Estuary, while Maple’s installation teams treated the neighbouring buildings as a single project to streamline installation and maximise onsite efficiencies.
