Maple’s screening louvres have been installed onto the tallest office building in Blackpool.
Maple has completed a screening louvre project for the new seven-storey office building on King Street in Blackpool. The project, part of the £350 million Talbot Gateway redevelopment, is set to become Blackpool's tallest office building and a hub for 3,000 civil servants. Maple Façades's contribution to this project involved installing up to 200 linear metres of Contour® SL louvres along the rooftop of the offices to protect essential rooftop plant machinery.
Given Blackpool's coastal location, the environmental conditions were a key consideration. To combat the corrosive effects of salt spray, the louvre blades were anodised black to provide both aesthetic appeal and long-term durability and performance.
The King Street office building has been designed to meet a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable practices throughout its development.
The completion of the King Street office development marks Maple's fourth collaboration with property developers, Muse, following our louvre installation for Wirral Growth offices in 2023. It also marks our largest louvre project to date, marginally surpassing the previous winner, Wirral Growth.
