Maple are helping create a stunning 50m long mural façade for a Croydon cash and carry.

The ambitious design for the Wing Yip supermarket chain will create a typical Chinese rural scene from nearly 100,000 perforations in the aluminium panels.

A total of 160 tray-style panels will be individually designed and manufactured, and fitted across the full length of the 10m high building frontage with special brackets.

When pieced together, the panels will create an imaginative piece of urban art the size of two tennis courts.

The design is the brainchild of architects David Futter Associates Ltd, who will liaise with Maple on the final design to ensure the rigidity of the panels is not compromised by the perforated pattern.
