Metal brise soleil blades are not everyone’s cup of tea... or coffee.

We’ve been commissioned to supply and install a timber system for Taylors of Harrogate, the world-famous tea and coffee company.

The cassetted system will be constructed in Western red cedar to satisfy the architects’ vision for a natural look to the company’s new HQ.

In time, the timber will weather to a silver-grey colour. Although timber brise soleil have been around for a long time, they have been overtaken by aluminium in recent years – or even by wood-effect powder-coated aluminium.

However, Maple are among the industry’s leading experts in the natural material, and will work closely with Seven Architecture and contractors Sir Robert McAlpine on the project.

A key part of Maple’s task will be to value-engineer the design to ensure a cost-effective use of what is often a more expensive material.

Taylors of Harrogate are an independent family tea and coffee company from Yorkshire. Like Maple, they have strong family values, and are committed to fairness, quality, creativity and treating people with respect.
