Bespoke panel façade for NDEC creates the image of surrounding woodland.
It has never been an easy feat to seamlessly combine the natural landscape with modern architecture, nonetheless, our perforated panels for NDEC may be the exception.
An array of satin bronze panels now clads the east and west elevations of the new research and development digital hub in Ebbw Vale. Each panel has been perforated with holes of three different sizes so that once brought together, the façade projects an image resembling the surrounding landscape. The clever design was the brainchild of the award-winning Rio Architects.
Across the south face of the facility, Maple have also installed horizontal brise soleil blades. This elevation provides a fully glazed entrance to welcome visitors and employees so the power-coated blades will provide a much-needed source of shade, especially in the summer months.
