The local club is dedicated to supporting men in Manchester who suffer from depression and suicidal thoughts.
Maple are proud to announce that we are sponsoring Men United Against Suicide Football Club.
MUAS FC was established in December 2022 to bring together men who have experienced mental health challenges, including depression and suicidal thoughts, through the communal power of football.
The team aims to raise funds to support charities that assist men and their families in the community, as well as to host local sporting and social events to further raise awareness and provide individuals with the necessary resources. The club is dedicated to changing the stigma surrounding men's mental health and fostering an environment where men feel comfortable talking and engaging with one another.
Maple’s sponsorship will directly contribute to
MUAS FC's efforts to provide an open dialogue for men struggling with their mental health and direct them toward available support systems.
Maple are privileged to be supporting an organisation that tackles such an important topic, particularly given its significance in the construction industry. Last year, it was reported by
Sky News that “73% of the UK's 2.1 million construction workers have been affected by mental illness. In the last decade, 7,000 have taken their own lives.”
