Maple looks back on the achievements of 2024

Written by Amy Bradbury | 13/12/24 08:00

To commemorate another year ending, we have looked back at some of our best achievements in 2024.

NAME CHANGE

At the beginning of this year, Maple Sunscreening rebranded as Maple Façades to reflect our evolution in the industry. 40 years ago, we began as a supplier of commercial blinds with our largest order at the time being £500. Since then, we’ve expanded our expertise to include the design, manufacture, and installation of architectural façades, brise soleil, louvres and rainscreen cladding, supporting diverse projects from cutting-edge car parks to modern universities.

AWARDS

2024 has also been a successful year for awards...

Horsham’s Fire and Training Centre won 'Building Project of the Year over £20 million' at the London and South East Constructing Excellence Awards 2024.

The Brentford Project, for which we installed a façade for their new car park, won ‘Development of the Year’ at the PROPS Awards.

Wirral Growth offices received two prestigious awards: Sub-Regional Project of the Year – Warrington and Wirral and Delivering Value Award at the North West Regional Construction Awards.

Greater Manchester Major Trauma Hospital project won New Build of the Year at the 2024 Healthcare Estates Awards.

University of the West of England's Frenchay Campus won Climate Action 2030 Award at the UK & Ireland Green Gown Awards.

TOP PROJECT COMPLETIONS

We’ve completed many impressive projects in the last 12 months, here’s two of our favourites…

Arle Court Transport Hub

Maple completed a dynamic pearl gold fin façade for the Arle Court Transport Hub car park in Cheltenham. Designed by architects BDP, the intricate façade features 1,200 —700 uniquely crafted— fins that create a dynamic, wave-like effect as the sun hits it from different angles.

University of the West of England Frenchay Campus

Maple’s biggest project to date and the largest Passivhaus project in the UK officially reached completion earlier this year. Our Aspect® rainscreen system supported Vinci Building UK and UWE Bristol’s sustainability goals with its thermally efficient, adjustable subframe that minimises thermal bridging. Using Maple’s patented eClips® system, we reduced nearly 50,000 penetrations, enhancing insulation and efficiency.

CORPORATE SOCIAL VALUE TEAM

This year Maple has cemented our commitment to helping local communities through the introduction of a dedicated corporate social value team. Maple as a business has always been conscientious about helping others through fundraisers and charitable events, however through the creation of our CSR team, we are now dedicating more time and resources into providing a lasting impact on the local communities in which we operate.

Since it’s inception, we’ve donated to a local foodbank in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, provided a donation to the Lighthouse charity, provided educational talks at nearby colleges and raised over £200 for Macmillan Coffee Morning! This is only some of the things our team are working on, to learn more, take a look at our Social Value Pack.

the future

As important as it is to look back and reflect on the achievements of 2024, its equally beneficial to look forward to the upcoming year.

2025 will see the completion of our 50th car park project: Ancoats Mobility Hub. We’re currently installing fins, louvres, expanded mesh and solid panels onto a pioneering car park in Manchester city centre. It’s an honour to have such a milestone project completed on home soil!
