Maple innovation programme is being welcomed by the company’s new HSEQ and Business Improvement Manager, Mark Simpson..

A five-strong team of Maple staff meet monthly to review ideas from colleagues to enhance customer experience, improve safety and efficiency, and reduce environmental impact.

Every idea, large or small, is assessed and the most innovative and commercially viable are built into Maple’s products and processes.

“What I see at Maple are people who have a clear passion for health, safety, the environment and quality,” said Mark. “It goes right through all business activities and is embedded in the culture of the company as a whole.”

Along with Health, Safety, Environment and Quality, innovation lie at the heart of Maple’s Diamond Route Approach, which is designed to provide exceptional service at every stage of a project.

“Maple has always been an innovative company; it’s in our culture,” said XXX Shmail Shahid, who spearheads the innovation programme.

“People throughout the company have ideas on how to make products and processes better, and how to transform the customer experience. What we’re doing is gathering these ideas from everyone – ideas that go above and beyond the everyday – assessing them and, were appropriate, implementing them.

“We use a consistent set of principles to assess every idea – it has to be actionable, commercial and has to make a difference. But nobody’s voice goes unheard. Without innovation, businesses don’t move forward.”
