Any development that’s called Circle Square is sure to challenge perceptions.

Manchester’s new city centre neighbourhood will place homes, offices, shops, restaurants and hotels in close proximity around an urban green space. Seemingly random, it’s being described as ‘a million miles from ordinary’.

Excited to be involved in the prestigious project, Maple are supplying and installing an architectural façade for one of two hotels on the Oxford Road site. It too is far from ordinary.

Perforated panels will be folded to create a zig-zag façade for the top half of the hotel ― an innovative design that (in keeping with the entire Circle Square development) will be as aesthetic as it is practical.

The project will see Maple renew a long-standing relationship with architects Leach Rhodes Walker, and will also involve close collaboration with Russells Construction.

The £750m development will be delivered over the next 10 years. Phase One, which includes apartments, commercial space and Maple’s hotel project, is planned for completion by the end of 2019.
