Victoria Square Car Park
CAR PARKS | ARCHITECTURAL FAÇADES | RAINSCREEN CLADDING
Maple played a central role in delivering the façade package for Woking’s new Victoria Square car park, supplying and installing a range of systems across the development. The scope included rainscreen cladding to the stair core, perforated panels to a bridge linking the car park to a neighbouring hotel, and ferruled mesh panels throughout the scheme, demonstrating the breadth of capability across design, manufacture and installation.
The standout feature was the vertical fin installation, one of the largest ever undertaken by Maple. More than 500 aluminium fin lengths, powder coated in four tones of black and grey, wrap around the building’s 45 metre high ramp towers, amounting to over 30 miles in total. Manufactured using modern methods of construction, the fins were pre assembled as factory built cassettes, improving programme efficiency and significantly reducing time spent working at height during installation.
The tight, city-centre site presented significant logistical challenges, which Maple overcame. The completed structure demonstrates our ability to provide a fully tailored service in a challenging environment.
