Maple delivered a façade designed to protect car park users from the elements while maintaining natural light and ventilation throughout the structure. The pre construction team developed a solution that achieved 51% free space between and within the panels, allowing exhaust fumes to escape while preserving the building’s open character. The design also incorporated backlit, hexagon shaped frames that showcase artwork by local artists, adding a distinctive visual feature to the exterior.
More than 600 solid and perforated aluminium panels were manufactured and installed across the project. Three metre high solid panels were produced in satin anodised aluminium, while perforated panels were powder coated in grey. Panel widths were carefully optimised to minimise material waste and improve installation efficiency. Maple’s specialist teams delivered the installation, working closely with the main contractor to overcome site challenges and seamlessly integrate the hexagon frames within the façade.
