Broadmarsh Bus Station and Car Park
CAR PARKS | ARCHITECTURAL FAÇADES
Maple delivered the architectural façade for a striking new 1,200-space multi-storey car park in Nottingham, designed to feel more like a landscaped park than a traditional parking structure. Working closely with the architects, a buildable façade solution was developed using Equitone panels, vertically cast glass panels, terracotta tiles and aluminium fins, with high-level media screens incorporated in the final design to enhance the building’s visual impact.
Close collaboration between the architects, contractor and Maple’s in-house design team ensured the façade was engineered for efficient manufacture and installation. Terracotta tiles were clipped onto mullions and carrier rails with specialist fixings, while aluminium fins manufactured from Maple’s MS2000 system were installed using stainless steel brackets, creating a façade that combines strong visual appeal with long-term performance.
There were a few challenges, which Maple addressed really well - ten out of ten for communication. When you look at the finished product, it's all been worthwhile. The mix of feature fins, laser-cut panels and terracotta tiles looks great - very close to the architect's impression.
