Maple installed up to 120 linear metres of screening louvres for two office developments in 2023.

We are proud to announce that our largest louvre project to date has recently been successful at the North West Regional Construction Awards.

In October last year, Maple completed the installation of up to 120 linear metres of screening louvres onto the roofs of two new office developments on The Wirral. The louvres effectively hide the buildings’ HVAC equipment and machinery from view whilst also promoting airflow.

The aluminium blades were ‘anodic’ powder-coated in steel bronze and soft champagne tones which will not only help provide an attractive feature but also protect against extreme weather conditions and corrosive salt spray coming from the Mersey Estuary.

One of the awards given to the Wirral Growth offices was ‘Sub Regional Project of the Year Award – Warrington and Wirral’. According to the judges, this was due to the exemplification of Constructing Excellence principles such as collaborative working and ‘the successful implementation of better ways of working’.

The second prize awarded to the development was ‘The Delivering Value Award and the Sub-Regional Project of The Year Award - Cheshire, Wirral and Warrington’ as the judges recognised the project’s contribution to ‘providing local people with new opportunities whilst generating long-term growth and prosperity in the local area’. The Wirral Growth Company commissioned the development as a means to provide more quality workspaces for the area and attract new businesses and forms part of a 20-year plan to add more value to the area through the creation of green public spaces and ‘family-friendly neighbourhoods’.

It was an honour to have a milestone project such as this recognised, and we would also like to congratulate AHR Architects and Morgan Sindall Construction with whom we collaborated closely on the project.
