North Manchester General Hospital MSCP nominated for collaboration award

We installed a striking laser-cut architectural façade for the new car park in 2023.

Maple are proud to announce that one of our projects, North Manchester General Hospital, has been nominated at the North West Regional Construction Awards.

The award is ‘Integration and Collaborative Working’ for which the criteria is a demonstration of ‘benefits that have been achieved through a collaborative and integrated working.’

Maple’s involvement in the project was the design, supply and installation of a geometric style façade and expanded mesh panels onto all four elevations of the car park. It is clear why the project has been recognised for its collaborative nature due to the intricate design of the façade. Each of the laser-cut panels consists of a pseudo-random pattern of triangular perforations and was given a specific location on the façade. Close cooperation was therefore paramount to achieve the architect’s, AFL Architects, high specification bespoke design.

The expanded mesh façade also provided a sense of variation as it was installed in a saw tooth configuration on the north elevation and a zig-zag formation on the south.

The award ceremony will be taking place on the 5th of July in Manchester where all the winners will be announced. Best of luck to our fellow nominees!
