Maple played an important role in a sustainability-led, re-use project in central London.
With retained features and recycled materials central to the refurbishment of a former print works and gin distillery in Clerkenwell, we used timber for a bespoke rooftop plant screen.
Although aluminium could also have provided a sustainable option, the wooden louvres fitted in better with the client’s vision for a ‘responsible reinvention’ of Laser House.
The rooftop screen hides machinery and equipment from view, and complements the four-storey brick façade, which was retained to reflect the character of the surrounding area.
Laser House provides more than 80,000 sq ft of office space for small and medium-size business, and up to 850 people.
