Maple are bringing the natural landscape to life on an architectural façade project in Wales.
We’re using perforated panels on the new National Digital Exploitation Centre in Ebbw Vale to create an image of surrounding woodland. Three different hole sizes will form the design envisaged by the award-winning Rio Architects, with the panels anodised in a natural satin bronze colour.
The south elevation of the research and development facility – the first of its kind in Wales – will be fully glazed, with Maple’s brise soleil system protecting staff and visitors from direct sun. Here, a horizontal projection of powder-coated aluminium blades will block the sun when it’s at its highest.
The National Digital Exploitation Centre is set to be one of the most advanced cyber testing and development facilities in the world, and is a key part of the Welsh Government’s programme of digital investment and transformation.
