With AI being a growing presence in our every day processes, Maple have discussed it's benefits in a recent Knowledge Centre article.
Artificial Intelligence remains a tentative subject for industries around the world given its loose liability regarding legislation and the supposed threat it poses to jobs. However,
The RIBA AI Report 2024 argues that if used correctly, AI leverages architects’ ability to streamline the design process and reach ‘the full potential of their digital models.’
It's indisputable that AI is continuing to prove itself as an unstoppable force within today's technological landscape. The construction industry is increasingly integrating AI into processes to help streamline each stage of a building’s lifecycle, from design to construction to usage. Its ability to rapidly process data enables better decision-making, easier collaboration and improved risk management to significantly improve building projects.
One area in which AI has proved itself to be a great asset is within BIM, as it facilitates collaboration between stakeholders and can even predict project outcomes and suggest improvements.
AI also optimises construction schedules by analysing data to consider various factors such as resource availability, weather conditions, and project dependencies. AI can mitigate supply chain risks by predicting demand for materials and equipment, ensuring that the right resources are available when needed.
With this in mind, perhaps it’s time to shift the view of AI as a foe and begin seeing it as a friend. After all, the rapid automation powers of AI can complement the creativity of the human mind to leverage endless architectural possibilities.
To see more ways in which AI can be seen as a friend to the industry, read our latest Knowledge Centre article, ‘How does AI benefit the architectural façade industry?’ where we outline the best ways AI can be optimised and provide examples of software programs that utilise it.
