Maple and Levolux products to combine for Waters Corporation factory

Written by Amy Bradbury | 14/07/23 09:15

Maple have won a contract to supply and install products from the Levolux range – one of the first since acquiring the intellectual property rights of the solar shading specialist.

The project for the Waters Corporation’s new precision-engineering facility at Longbridge will combine Levolux louvres and brackets with Maple’s own solid and perforated panels, and architectural fins.

Although the perforated panels on the main entrance will be the dominant feature on the 45,000 sq ft building, which is being built by contractor Speller Metcalfe, other components will have an important role to play.

The Ligniti louvre VLS XL140 will screen HVAC machinery, while Maple’s vertical fins – designed to provide shade from direct sunlight on the south-west elevation – will be fixed to the curtain wall with Triniti high-performance thermal and acoustic-break brackets.

The Waters Corporation is a world-leader in analytical instruments and software for the life, materials and food sciences. The new building St Modwen’s Longbridge Business Park will replace the company’s existing premises in Solihull, increase space by 300% and provide an additional 100 jobs.

Maple are due on site later in 2023.
