Top marks for new Maple car park façade project in Milton Keynes

Product quality, speed of installation and great communication were the standout features of Maple’s latest multi-storey car park project in central Milton Keynes.

That’s the verdict of Goldbeck project manager Stanislav Stanchev, who says the Maple team went above and beyond to meet his tight deadlines. But it’s the overall look of the perforated panel façade on the 700-space car park that has impressed Stanislav most.

“That’s the thing consumers see when judging a project. The façade definitely met the design (brief); maybe even more. The client was impressed and so were we.”

The Milton Keynes project is the latest in a series of collaborations with the German construction company, and brings together Goldbeck’s car park experience and Maple’s specific expertise in architectural façades.

Stanislav added: “Apart from the finished product, I was most impressed with the Maple teams onsite. The programme was challenging, but Maple had three or four teams working on installation on all elevations at times, and met all the project milestones.

“Communication was good too; nine out of ten, everything I needed was answered very quickly. Really good drawings, too. Overall, I was really happy with everything on site.”

Maple supplied and installed nearly 1,300 laser-cut perforated panels and solid panels to create a façade that will protect car park users from the elements, while still allowing natural light and ventilation. A total of 3,500 square metres of façade panels took 8 weeks to install.
