2024 looks like it's going to be an exciting year for Maple Façades.

As a new year begins, it’s important to keep looking forward and see what exciting things are in store for the year ahead. With this in mind, we’ve taken a look at some of our upcoming projects for 2024 and come up with our top 5.

5. ROYAL OLDHAM HOSPITAL, OLDHAM

Back in 2022, Maple Façades won the prestigious contract to install rainscreen cladding onto the new extension at The Royal Oldham Hospital. Both aluminium and terracotta cladding are being installed onto the extension as well as surrounding an internal courtyard.

The powder-coated aluminium and terracotta reflect Oldham’s rich industrial mill heritage and complement the traditional red-brick construction of the existing hospital.

In 2024, the extension will provide a new emergency theatre and two new 24-bed general surgery wards.

4. HARWELL ZETA, OXFORD

This year, Maple Façades' brise soleil will be installed onto Harwell’s Zeta building at their Science and Innovation Campus in Oxford. One of the aspects that makes this project so exciting is that our Strata brise soleil panels will play a vital role in Harwell’s plans to ensure that Zeta achieves Net Zero Building standards.

The design and placement of the blades will reduce the demand for internal cooling by providing solar shading and glare control.

The new research and development building is expected to be completed later in 2024.

3. UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST OF ENGLAND FRENCHAY CAMPUS, BRISTOL

2024 will mark the completion of our biggest rainscreen cladding project to date. Since the summer of 2022, we’ve been working with VINCI to install cladding onto three new accommodation blocks on the University of the West of England’s Frenchay Campus.

The project is one of the UK’s most significant Passivhaus developments which not only makes it a great milestone for Maple Façades but also a massive step towards the UK becoming Net Zero by 2050.
Our team have been working tirelessly on this flagship project and the first of the three blocks has just been handed over.

It is expected that the development will be completed in March 2024.

2. cASTLE CAR PARK, NEWCASTLE-UNDER-LYME

Castle multi-storey car park in Newcastle-under-Lyme is one of our latest project wins for 2024. The project involves the installation of a 3D façade comprising bespoke perforated panels which will be folded to create a concertina-style effect.

The folded panels, powder-coated dark green, will feature castle-shaped perforations as a nod to the town’s history. Maple's expanded mesh panels and flashings will also be installed on the £11 million car park.

This innovative façade installation is predicted to be finished by May 2024.

1. ARLE COURT CAR PARK, CHELTENHAM

Maple Façades are making exciting progress with our façade installation for Arle Court multi-storey car park and transport interchange in Cheltenham. Advanced 3D modelling and renders were used to design the 1,900 trapezoidal fins that are being fixed onto new £26m facility. The fins will be powder-coated in four colours: pearl gold, brown beige, pale brown and terra brown to produce a gradient and give the impression of shape and movement.

It is expected that the new car park will be available for use in summer 2024.
