Maple to install Levolux Infiniti fins for Passivhaus build in Tain

Maple are set to start work on our most northerly project after winning the contract for a brise soleil system at the new Tain Campus.

We’re supplying and installing more than 600 of our Levolux Infiniti aluminium blades to the nursery, primary school, high school and sports complex, which is 40 miles north of Inverness.

The horizontal blades, in various sizes from 2.3m to 5.7m, will provide solar shading and visual impact on the two-storey building.

Architects Stallan-Brand originally specified timber cladding but, after a process of value engineering, Maple recommended powder-coated aluminium for its better strength-to-weight ratio and cost-effectiveness.

The brise soleil will also help Tain become the first new school in the Highlands to meet ‘Passivhaus’ standards – a building so energy-efficient it will require barely any heating.

It will also be one of the first Maple projects to use Infiniti, a Levolux system that can be installed as a fixed or adjustable system.

Maple are due on site in November, with the campus-build, which is being led by Kier Construction and the campus is expected to be open by late 2024.
