Maple complete rooftop screening system on SOYO development in Leeds

Maple have completed installation of a screening system that will offer privacy for residents’ rooftop terraces on the new SOYO development in Leeds.

The project demonstrates the versatility of our architectural façades – with the finished system also hiding unsightly plant and machinery from view.

Instead of more traditional louvres, the screening is made up of gold-coloured perforated panels (usually reserved for  façade projects). The result is a high-end, bespoke look.

The screening was developed in partnership with Maple’s in-house design team and Caddick Construction, and involved cutting around 1,600 perforations on each panel.

Although shielded from the HVAC equipment (and their neighbours), residents will still enjoy great views from the terraces, including one of Maple’s most spectacular projects – the twisted-fin façade on the nearby Victoria Gate car park.

SOYO will provide more than one million square feet of residential, office and leisure space in the heart of Leeds’ cultural district. The project is one of the largest undertaken by Yorkshire firm Caddick Construction, who have previously collaborated with Maple on the Glasshouse car park in Cheshire’s Alderley Park.
