Maple to provide rooftop plant screening for new Zurich offices

Maple are helping leading insurer Zurich achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating on their new flagship offices in Swindon.

We’re providing rooftop plant screening for the six-storey building, and will work closely with contractors Skanska UK to ensure low-impact construction techniques and minimal waste.

Zurich are making their offices ‘single-use plastic-free’, with electric car charging for visitors – and even a beehive on the roof to boost biodiversity.

However, it’s the prospect of creating two types of advanced louvres - ventilation and acoustic - for the prestigious project that’s creating a ‘buzz’ in our Stockport factory.

The precision-constructed 150mm louvres that make up the screening will protect important machinery and equipment from the elements, while permitting airflow. On one side, acoustic louvres will also reduce noise pollution – an important consideration as the building will also feature a rooftop terrace for staff.

Designed to blend in with the rest of the building, Maple’s plant screening will be finished in graphite black. We’re due on site in August 2021, with the new offices scheduled to be completed in 2022.
