Maple have received a Contribution to Perfect Delivery award from Morgan Sindall Construction after completing a car park façade project in Salford.
The awards recognise the role suppliers play in helping the construction firm deliver its customer commitments to safe, on time and snag-free projects that ‘delight’ clients.
Stanley Street multi-storey is cloaked in individual ‘kite-shaped’ aluminium panels, which give the façade a striking 3D profile. Maple worked closely with architects AHR and Morgan Sindall Construction on the intricacies of the design, manufacture, fixing and installation.
“Maple smashed the eight-week installation programme for each elevation – completing it in half the time,” said Morgan Sindall’s Construction Director, Jeff Boothroyd. “When the project was completed, it looked exactly like the architect’s computer image. It was a stunning interpretation of the design. Uncanny.”
Success was achieved by a comprehensive pre-construction phase to ensure ‘buildability’ without compromising the stunning design. Maple also created full-size prototypes and a set of control samples for the complex components. Clear logistics management and tried-and-tested installation methodology completed a seamless process.
After Maple received the award at a ceremony for the north-west region, Maple director Sean McGrath said: “Just like Morgan Sindall, we strive to be the ‘best and most sustainable business in our industry by delivering exceptional customer service’, so being recognised for values that align with our own is especially pleasing,” said.
Stanley Street multi-storey car park is part of the ambitious New Bailey riverside development in Salford, which includes offices, and retail and leisure space.
