As a family-run business, we recognise the value of passing vital workplace skills onto the next generation through apprenticeships.

Maple have supported apprentices from various departments over the last 10 years. From design and fabrication to marketing, individuals with different experiences and backgrounds have become valuable members of the Maple family through apprenticeship schemes.

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF HIRING APPRENTICES?

Apprenticeships benefit our local community both socially and economically in a variety of ways. By hiring apprentices, companies help ensure a skilled workforce that facilitates the growth of various key sectors.  They also create more job opportunities in the local community thereby reducing unemployment rates and strengthening the local economy.

Even though it’s a longer process than hiring an experienced candidate, by committing to apprenticeship programmes companies can guarantee a valuable member of the workforce as apprenticeships are designed to align closely with requirements specific to the business. Also, showing commitment to apprenticeships reflects how much a company is invested in the well-being of employees and communities.

CAN ONLY SCHOOL LEAVERS JOIN APPRENTICESHIPS?

Another great thing about apprenticeships is that they are open to people of any age, so they’re also the perfect option for someone who wants a career stage. Amy, one of our ex-apprentices, joined Maple after finishing university, ‘Having finished my degree in late 2022, I realised how unequipped I was for the real working world, it's no surprise that many students struggle once leaving university. The great thing about being an apprentice is that it didn’t matter that I didn’t have a lot of experience, just a passion to learn more and build on my skillset.’

What's an apprenticeship like at maple Façades?

Maple's Project Coordinator,  Adam Daniels, first joined Maple as a Fabrication Apprentice and has since developed into a valuable member of our Operations team. Learn more about his apprenticeship journey here:

Overall, Maple believes an apprenticeship is a valuable career path for anyone, and we are proud to support them within our business.
