Forgetting where you left your car may never be a problem in the new Kirby Corner car park at the University of Warwick.
As well as looking great, the folded aluminium tray-style panels will protect the inside of the car park from the elements, while still allowing light and ventilation. The powder-coated coloured panels will also be used to clad the stair core, along with specially designed perforated panels.
When complete, the multi-storey car park will provide 1,300 spaces, electric vehicle charging points and an advanced number plate recognition system. Maple are innovating too... learning from the previous building on the site and developing the panel design to make them easier and more cost-effective to manufacture and install.
The project is part of the university’s long-term vision for parking on campus, which will see the vast majority of parking spaces moved to the periphery, with better pedestrian, cycle and shuttle bus connections to buildings.
