Maple won the contract earlier this year to install fins, brise soleil and rainscreen cladding for the new net zero build.

Things are beginning to take shape onsite of Peterborough College!

Since winning the contract in early 2024, Maple have been instrumental in designing, supplying and installing a range of our core products for Green Technology Centre. Once completed, the new facility will provide courses that specialise in sustainable construction and electric vehicle technology to prepare for a more environmentally friendly future in construction.

To coincide with the eco-friendly curriculum, the building has been designed to be net zero which means that the building’s energy usage will be met by on-site renewable energy and any remaining carbon will be offset. Our products will play a vital role in the building’s net zero objectives as Aspect® rainscreen cladding has been designed for enhanced thermal efficiency and our brise soleil will provide effective solar shading. Both will significantly reduce the need for heating and cooling systems and therefore energy consumption.

Also, Maple are currently fixing 16 large green fins that span the entire front face of the building to provide an attractive architectural feature that not only mirrors the facility’s name, but also its nature.
