Maple collaborated on the project which has recently won a coveted prize at the Healthcare Estates Awards.

Maple are proud to announce that one of our façade projects, Greater Manchester Major Trauma Hospital, has won ‘New Build of the Year’ at the 2024 Healthcare Estates Awards.

To receive the award, the Healthcare Estates judges assessed each of the shortlisted candidates on their originality, innovation, quality of planning and execution and the delivery of desirable economic development or regeneration.

The GMMTH forms part of Salford Royal Hospital and was completed in September 2023. The hospital’s design was conceptualised by DAY Architectural and was brought to life using 3D visualisation and our repurposed Pluto rail system.
Gold vertical fins from our Vector range cloak all elevations of the modern medical facility, including the new state-of-the-art helipad. Also, we supplied large gold posts and carrier arms to create a gold exoskeleton façade around the facility, which is where our Pluto system played a vital role as it enabled the fins to sit away from the building.

The hard work that went into the project has not only been recognised by award organisations such as Healthcare Estates Awards, but also by Tom Leach, Assistant Project Surveyor at BAM Construct UK with whom we worked very closely on the project:

‘Maple’s approach to collaboration was second to none and the finished installations are of high quality.’

This award is a great achievement and Maple would like to extend our congratulations to everyone involved. If you’d like to learn more about this impressive project, download our case study here.
