Maple have completed a prestigious Birmingham apartment project – with a promise from the contractor to work together in the future.

More than 100 bespoke vertical fins are protecting glazed spaces from the effects of solar glare at the new development at Exchange Square.

But they’re also making an important contribution to the look of the building, with the 4m and 5m high fins powder-coated to match the sandstone effect of the project’s concrete cladding.

That attention to detail and the collaboration with architects and contractor scored ‘Excellent’ in our follow-up quality questionnaire.

Highlighting ‘excellent communication’, Chief Engineer Jim Keyte from Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd said: “The site team and I have been impressed by Maple’s service and, most importantly, their attitude to the contract at Exchange Square.

I look forward to working with Maple again in the future.”

As well as scoring ‘Excellent’ in categories to rate helpfulness, service, speed & quality, and appearance of the completed project, Maple also scored 10 out of 10 in the ‘likely to recommend’ section.

Exchange Square is a new ‘urban village’ for Birmingham, spread over three blocks of nine, 16 and 27 storeys. Phase One, which is due to be completed later this year, will include 603 luxury apartments and a residents’ private club and roof garden, as well as cafés, bars and restaurants.
