Maple are installing an expanded mesh plant screen on the roof of the redeveloped Crescent Centre in Bristol.
Expanded mesh is common on architectural façades, but using it to screen unsightly HVAC machinery is a recent innovation.
Typically, louvred blades are used, but we’re combining expanded mesh with acoustic blanking panels for a cost-effective solution that will reduce the visual impact and noise from rooftop machinery.
The plant screening is necessary because part of the redevelopment of the office building includes three private roof terraces on the fifth floor.
The Crescent Centre redevelopment has been designed by Buckley Gray Yeoman and will be delivered by Kier Construction. Installation of Maple’s screening is scheduled for July and August 2023.
