The design possibilities of architectural façades are coming to reality in Manchester city centre.
The £750m development has been described as ‘a million miles from ordinary’. And our façade on the top half of a hotel and car park building is no different. It’s made up of folded aluminium panels that fit together precisely to create a 3D diamond texture that catches the light from different angles.
The façade, powder-coated in grey-white, will stretch upwards from the tenth floor of the 158-bed hotel part of the building. The project is the latest of Maples’ collaborations with architects Leach Rhodes Walker, and has required a close and effective relationship with Russells Construction.
