Maple help create living green wall on Chester car park

Maple are going green on a new car park façade project in Chester.

As well as supplying and installing aluminium panels for the 800-space multi-storey in the city’s Northgate development, we’re helping create a living wall on the seven-floor façade.

It’s the brainchild of architects AHR, with Maple and VINCI Construction UK Limited challenged with bringing their vision to reality.

Central to the solution is a bespoke support structure. Designed for Maple’s perforated, solid and expanded mesh panels, it will also support living wall panels from ANS Global and incorporate ‘C’ channels to hide irrigation pipes.

Maple are due on site in August, but are already liaising closely with the architects and main contractors to ensure smooth progress towards scheduled completion later in 2021.

“With so many elements involved, this is a perfect project to showcase Maple’s Diamond Route Approach, which manages the complete project from concept to installation, and provides peace of mind for clients and contractors,” said Maple’s Head of Sales and Marketing, David Carroll.

The panels will be powder-coated in shades of yellow and gold as a foil to the living wall, which is being installed not only to look good but also to highlight the car park’s green credentials.

The multi-storey will have electric car charging points, and a cycle hub with showers and changing facilities.
