Maple’s Ligniti Contour 50 louvre system provides effective ventilation and screening for Brighton Hospital as part of a £486m redevelopment.
The Trauma, Tertiary and Teaching (3Ts) project at The Royal Sussex Hospital has undergone a mass redevelopment, including the replacement of existing hospital buildings and the construction of a replacement energy centre, which now features Maple’s Ligniti Contour 50 system of high-performance weather louvres.
Our advanced screening system, consisting of 170 sqm of louvres, plays an important role as it protects plant and machinery from rain penetration whilst also providing ventilation. This system has also been designed to enable easy installation through it's unique clip connection system.
The system’s ability to provide both ventilation and protection is made possible through a double-bank system of 50mm blades, that have been coated in a Class 3 marine-grade PPC to protect them against the corrosive effects of Brighton’s coastal environment.
Maple’s part in the project has now been completed but the £486m redevelopment, under construction by Laing O’Rourke, is still ongoing. Once complete, the 3Ts centre will provide cutting-edge, modern facilities and treatments including cancer care, neurosciences, stroke service, imaging, a fracture clinic and much more.
